The entrepreneurial journey comes with a wide host of challenges!

Each one who sets out on this path, finds their own path and makes it an enriching experience for the world around them. An entrepreneur or a leader stands tall with a lot of accountability and responsibility for not just their own actions but for the team they lead and create.  Yes, it needs guts but more than that it needs the right vision and attitude. And more so, when you are trying to make a mark in the industry, dealing with establishing a brand, adjusting to match the industry standards and exceeding the competition. Emerging as an upcoming profitable business is a constant challenge, no matter how many years you’ve dedicated in the same business.

When I started my journey in the relocation industry, I definitely didn’t feel welcomed at all. I was young, treated like an underdog and considered a silver spoon child with a family legacy set up to look after my life.  My team (then) had no expectation or respect except for the fact I was the boss’s daughter and rightly so, I hadn’t achieved anything yet to become someone in their eyes.  The industry was full of veterans, it still is ... with competition all across spectrums. I couldn’t spot anyone of my age and character across the industry. I found my passion in the idea of ‘Impacting lives of people around me and offering stress-free end to end relocation solutions to my customers.’ A lot wasn’t tapped earlier and the industry was in its nascent stage. Even now, relocation is not yet an industry, but part of everything else.

While climbing up the growth curve we realised various challenges of not just sourcing people, breaking the stereotype but also motivating people and build a unique culture to such an unconventional industry.

Where others see impenetrable barriers, many see challenges to embrace and obstacles to overcome. I figured out with time the few things that drove me everyday to work, without which it’s like an empty mind and heart with no connection and tranquillity.

Passion

I wouldn’t have been able to survive a single day if this was not my calling. If moving homes wasn’t making me like I was the game changer in my own way, I wudnt have been happy doing it. It was my father ‘s love for the industry that made me step in, but my own fairytale romance with the beautiful homes and people that I moved which kept me going. There is nothing that beats passion and madness for what truly inspires you and you sincerely love to do. Your job needs to be that one joyous experience that makes you reach out to your desk everyday.  Remember the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet then keep looking. Don’t settle!

Intent

The most important attribute to doing anything in life is the intent behind it. My reason of being an entrepreneur is very clear to me and it was long back when I discovered it. When I wake up every morning, the feeling of being responsible for the 600 families that are associated with PMR is what excites me and makes me love my job so much more. The intention of your heart to make that career choice is very important. Hence ‘Listen to your heart, always!!’.

Love

Love has power like nothing… It can make you do things beyond belief and unconditionally. Although believing in your goals provides the foundation to overcome the challenges but it is ultimately your love for your vision and your goals that lead you higher to success.  It is definitely imperative to have a relationship with your work, a solid committed romantic relationship which hurts, makes you emotional and makes your life worth it.  I have this crazy love for PMR that I can compare to none. I often have family complaining that in my list of people closest to my heart, PMR Family tops the list!

Changing lives

I have always believed in the fact that one should be able to contribute and impact the lives of people around to bring about the necessary change. I love practicing this even when I am out for a dinner or meeting. I always focus on sharing my life experiences and contributing to the lives of people. Also, when you are entrepreneur running a company with a sizeable team, it is essential to breath your vision in their lives. I also feel that between the time you walk into the office and leave for the day you should learn something you have never experienced before.

Enhanced experiences

When one is working towards overcoming challenges in life it is essential to keep a positive attitude. Always focus on advancing one foot at a time and celebrating the little joys, as one’s wealth should be the experiences he/she has gained while working their way to overcome challenges and achieve success.
