The industry has always fascinated me with the uncertainties it comes with. Every client is like a brand-new day overlooking you with new experiences!

India being the epicentre of globalisation and with a lot of foreign investments entering India, there are more and more people moving to India with new assignments and new beginnings.

Following are the trends that we have observed lately.

  1. Bengaluru, our own Silicon Valley is now home to a lot of start-up’s who have been on a hiring spree for both within India and overseas. There are massive German companies too that are moving their expats to Bangalore. Once upon a time, we used to have an ad hoc move to Bengaluru, as it was known as the retirement city but today, this is where the heart of relocation lies.  A lot of opportunities have attracted crowds which has also let the real estate booming and traffic congestions.

  1. Pune is the second most attractive city. A lot of corporates are now setting up their Head Office in Pune and not Mumbai so we have been able to see a lot of bulk moves along with lock stock and barrel. MNC also find Pune to be a suitable option with respect to climate, cost effectiveness and manpower skills.

  1. New home for Japanese expats – India is slowly becoming a very important market for Japanese considering the make in India program. They are setting up huge SEZ ‘s for their MNC ‘s and hence moving a lot of people to not just metro cities but to smaller cities as well.

  1. A lot of people are now moving to Tier 2 cities from Metros because of cost, pollution, traffic and quality of life is said to be better. We have seen a huge shift from Tier 1 location to Tier 2, and with such opportunities corporates are also looking to set up offices in regions where they never explored.

  1. The biggest market for overseas relocation remains USA. Most of the people moving out of India still prefer USA as a destination of opportunities.  Also, most of the corporates are based out of USA, and people return after assignments are over. India – USA remains an important business lane for the moving Industry.
